Honoring 406 Day – April 6th

Today, on 406 Day, we recognize the lifesaving impact of the 406 MHz emergency frequency — the global standard for distress beacons — and the incredible network of people and systems that make rescue possible.

At Dukane Seacom, we are proud to manufacture ELTs that operate on this critical frequency, but the real heroes are the search and rescue professionals who respond — day or night, in all conditions — to bring people home safely.

We extend our deepest gratitude to:

🔹 The Cospas-Sarsat international satellite system, which makes global detection and location of distress signals possible.
🔹 The NOAA SARSAT Program, which operates the U.S. ground segment of the system and coordinates vital SAR alerts.
🔹 The dedicated men and women of Search and Rescue (SAR) teams worldwide, who put themselves in harm’s way to save others.

It’s our privilege to support this mission through the technology we build. On 406 Day — and every day — we remain committed to reliability, accuracy, and contributing to the lifesaving efforts that define this frequency.
